If your publication, radio or television station offers a calendar of community events, you may want to include news of the following hearing.
The Committee overseeing the Application for Certification for the proposed Modesto Irrigation District Electric Generation Station Project will hold an evidentiary hearing as follows:
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2003
Beginning at 12:30 p.m.
Public Comment session begins at 6:00 p.m.
Modesto Irrigation District Headquarters
1231 11th Street
Evidentiary hearings are held to establish the factual record necessary to reach a decision in this case. This is accomplished by taking oral, written, or documentary evidence from the parties. Formal evidentiary hearings are more structured than Committee conferences or staff workshops.
The Modesto Irrigation District proposes to construct and operate a 95-megawatt, simple-cycle, natural gas-fired facility planned for a 12-acre site in Ripon, California, in San Joaquin County. The project is being evaluated under the California Energy Commission's Small Power Plant Exemption process.
Members of the public and other interested agencies are invited to participate and provide comments. Those who wish further information about how to participate should contact Roberta Mendonca, the Commission's Public Adviser, at (916) 654-4489, toll free in California at (800) 822-6228, or by email at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
