El Segundo Hosts LA-Area Meeting Oct. 2 on State's
Energy Policy
The
California Energy Commission is holding hearings on
its 2003 Integrated Energy Policy Report, which provides
an overview of major energy trends and issues within
California's transportation, electricity, and natural
gas industries. The report examines energy supply,
demand, price, reliability, and efficiency and their
impacts on public health and safety, the economy,
resources, and the environment.
The
Los Angeles-area hearing on the report takes place
tomorrow in El Segundo to obtain feedback from government
officials, energy industry and environmental representatives,
and public policy decision makers.

Legislation
requires the California Energy Commission to adopt
the report every two years. The initial report
is due to the Governor and the Legislature in
November 2003. The Commission is holding hearings
October 1, 2, 3, 6, and 10, throughout the State
on the draft report. The comments and discussions
at these regional hearings will be included in
a revised report that the Energy Commission will
consider adopting at its October 29, 2003, Business
Meeting. |
