Dear Editor / Publisher:
If your publication, radio, or television station offers a calendar of community events, you may want to include news of the following hearings.
The Committee overseeing the Application for Certification for the proposed Salton Sea Unit 6 Geothermal Power Project will hold evidentiary hearings on:
MONDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2003
(and, if necessary)
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2003
Beginning at 1 p.m.
Imperial Irrigation District Board Room
1285 Broadway Street
El Centro, California
Leader: "Garret Shean," Passcode: "Salton C Cal"
Evidentiary hearings are held to establish the factual record necessary to reach a decision in this case. This is accomplished by taking oral, written, or documentary evidence from the parties. Formal evidentiary hearings are more structured than Committee conferences or Staff workshops.
The Salton Sea Unit 6 Geothermal Power Project, proposed by CE Obsidian Energy, would be a 185-megawatt geothermal power plant. The facility would be built on an 80-acre parcel located six miles northwest of Calipatria, within the unincorporated area of Imperial County.
Members of the public and other interested agencies are invited to participate and provide comments. For information about how to participate, contact Margret Kim, the CommissionŐs Public Adviser, toll free in California at (800) 822-6228, or by email at:
