If your publication, radio, or television station offers a calendar of community events, you may want to include news of the following hearing.
The California Energy Commission Committee overseeing the Application to certify the Blythe Energy Project Phase II power plant will conduct a Project Status Hearing as follows:
THURSDAY, JANUARY 22, 2004
Beginning at 1 p.m.
Blythe City Hall - Council Chambers
225 North Broadway
This hearing will provide the Committee an opportunity to review the schedule for the remainder of the proceeding and to discuss the critical path items the Energy Commission staff says it needs from the Applicant in order to complete the Final Staff Assessment in a timely manner. That report will examine the engineering, environmental, and public health and safety impacts of the project.
The Blythe Energy Project Phase II is a proposed addition to the Blythe Energy Project. If approved, the 520-megawatt, combined-cycle Phase II project will be built within the property boundaries of the existing project, near Interstate 10 and the Blythe Airport, 5 miles west of the city of Blythe in Riverside County.
Members of the public and other interested agencies are invited to participate and provide comments. Those who wish to find out how to participate should contact Margret J. Kim, the Commission's Public Adviser, toll free in California, at (800) 822-6228, or by email at:
