If your publication, radio, or television station offers a calendar of community events, you may want to include news of the following workshop.
The staff of the California Energy Commission will hold a workshop on the Draft Initial Study of the Application for Small Power Plant Exemption for the Kings River Conservation District Peaker Project on:
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2004
1:00 p.m. to approximately 5:30 p.m.
Kings River Conservation District Headquarters Meeting Room
4886 East Jensen Avenue
The Energy Commission staff will receive comments on the Draft Initial Study, answer questions, gather additional information and work through final issues in preparation for the staff's Final Initial Study to be completed in March 2004.
The Kings River Conservation District is seeking approval to build and operate the natural gas-fired Peaker Project on a site south of Fresno, near the community of Malaga in Fresno County. Two combustion turbines in simple-cycle operation would generate 97 megawatts.
Members of the public and other interested agencies are invited to participate and provide comments. Those who wish further information about how to participate should contact Margret J. Kim, the Commission's Public Adviser, toll free in California at (800) 822-6228, or by e-mail at:
