Community Calendar Announcement

If your publication, radio or television station offers a calendar of community events, you may want to include news of the following workshop.

The California Energy Commission staff will conduct a data response and issue resolution workshop for the proposed San Francisco Electric Reliability Project on:

MONDAY, JULY 19, 2004
2 p.m. to 5 p.m., 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

This workshop will provide the Energy Commission staff an opportunity to discuss the applicant's data responses and resolve any outstanding issues. The areas of discussion in the afternoon will include cultural resources, land use, noise, soil and water resources, traffic and transportation, transmission system engineering, visual resources, and waste management . The topics discussed in the evening will include air quality, alternatives analysis, hazardous materials management, and public health.

The City of San Francisco is proposing to build and operate the San Francisco Electric Reliability Project on a portion of the existing Potrero Power Plant site. The San Francisco Electric Reliability Project would consist of three natural gas-fired turbines, operating in simple-cycle configuration, to produce 145 megawatts.

Members of the public and other interested agencies are invited to participate and provide comments.
