July 20, 2004,
Dear Editor / Publisher:
If your publication, radio or television station offers a calendar of community events, you may want to include news of the following conference.
The Committee overseeing the Application for a Small Power Plant Exemption for the proposed Riverside Energy Resource Center will hold a pre-hearing conference as follows:
WEDNESDAY, JULY 28, 2004
Beginning at 10:00 a.m.
California Energy Commission
1516 9th Street
Hearing Room A
Sacramento, California 95814
This conference will provide the Committee an opportunity to assess the participants' readiness for evidentiary hearings, identify areas of agreement and dispute, and the ability of the project to qualify for a Small Power Plant Exemption.
The City of Riverside Public Utilities proposes to build and operate a 96-megawatt, simple-cycle, natural gas-fired, peaking power plant. The proposed 12-acre site is located next to the city's wastewater treatment plant, from which the power plant would use reclaimed water for cooling.
Members of the public and other interested agencies are invited to participate and provide comments. Those who wish further information about how to participate should contact Margret J. Kim, the Commission's Public Adviser, toll free at (800) 822-6228, or by email at:
