If your publication, radio or television station offers a calendar of community events, please include news of the following conference.
The Committee overseeing the Los Esteros Critical Energy Facility Phase II Application for Certification will hold a pre-hearing conference on:
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 2004
Beginning at 1:00 p.m.
California Energy Commission
1516 Ninth Street
Hearing Room A
This conference focuses only on the recertification portion of the Los Esteros Critical Energy Facility application and provides the Committee an opportunity to assess readiness for evidentiary hearings, identify areas of agreement and dispute, and discuss procedures to complete this recertification process on schedule.
The Los Esteros Critical Energy Facility is a 180-megawatt, natural gas-fired power plant consisting of four simple-cycle combustion turbine generators in North San Jose on the north side of State Route 237 near the community of Alviso. In addition to recertification of the existing power plant, this Phase II Application for Certification also seeks a license to convert the facility to combined-cycle operation, capable of producing 320 megawatts.
Members of the public and other interested agencies are invited to participate and provide comments. Those who wish further information about how to participate should contact Margret J. Kim, the Commissions Public Adviser, at (916) 654-4489, toll free in California at (800) 822-6228, or by email at:
