Dear Editor / Publisher:
If your publication, radio or television station offers a calendar of community events, you may want to include news of the following activities.
The Committee overseeing the Application for Certification for the proposed Roseville Energy Park will hold a site visit, pre-hearing conference and issues workshop on:
THURSDAY, JANUARY 6, 2005
Site visit begins at 10 a.m.
Pre-hearing conference begins at 11 a.m.
Issues workshop begins at 2 p.m.
The Clubhouse at Woodcreek
Woodcreek Golf Club
5880 Woodcreek Oaks Drive
Prior to the conference, members of the public are invited along on a tour of the proposed site. Reservations for bus transportation to the site must be made by January 4, 2005, by contacting the Energy Commissions Public Adviser. The conference will provide the Committee an opportunity to assess readiness for evidentiary hearings, discuss procedures , and identify areas of agreement and dispute. Following the pre-hearing conference, the parties will meet to resolve any disputed issues to prepare for evidentiary hearings.
The Roseville Energy Park, as proposed by the city of Rosevilles municipal utility, Roseville Electric, would be a natural gas-fired, combined-cycle power plant that would generate 120 megawatts, with the ability to peak fire to 160 megawatts when the summertime demand for electricity is the highest.
Members of the public and other interested agencies are invited to participate and provide comments. Those who wish further information about how to participate, or want to make site visit reservations, should contact Margret J. Kim, the Commissions Public Adviser, at (916) 654-4489, toll free in California at (800) 822-6228, or by email at: email@example.com.
