February 11, 2005
If your publication, radio or television station offers a calendar of community events, you may want to include news of the following workshop.
Members of the California Energy Commission staff will conduct a workshop on an amendment petition for the Metcalf Energy Center on:
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2005
5:30 to 8:30 P.M. (or earlier if discussion is completed)
Coyote Grange Hall
412 Monterey Road
The workshop will provide the public, the staff of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District and other interested parties an opportunity to discuss the Energy Commission staff analysis of the Metcalf Energy Center petition to amend air quality conditions of certification related to commissioning, startup and shutdown of the generation equipment.
The Metcal Energy Center is a 600-megawatt, combined-cycle, natural gas-fired power plant in San Jose that is expected to begin commercial operation in June 2005. The project was licensed by the Energy Commission on September 24, 2001.
Members of the public and other interested agencies are invited to participate and provide comments. Those who wish further information about how to participate should contact the Commissions Public Adviser, Margret Kim, toll free in California at (800) 822-6228, or by email at:
