April 1, 2005
If your publication, radio or television station offers a calendar of community events, you may want to include news of the following workshop.
The California Energy Commission will conduct a workshop to discuss the amendment petition filed by the Inland Empire Energy Center on:
TUESDAY, APRIL 12, 2005
3:30 p.m. to approximately 6:30 p.m.
Eastern Municipal Water District Board Room
2270 Trumble Road
This workshop will provide the Energy Commission staff the opportunity to receive comments from the applicant, members of the public and other agencies on the modifications proposed for the power plant project approved by the Energy Commission on December 17, 2003.
The Inland Empire Energy Center was licensed as a natural gas-fired, 670-megawatt power plant, located near Romoland, in Riverside County. The amendment petition proposes to replace the combustion turbines originally approved for the project with a new type of more-efficient, lower-polluting gas turbine that would increase generation to 810 megawatts.
Members of the public and other interested agencies are invited to participate and provide comments. Those who wish further information about how to participate should contact Margret J. Kim, the Commissions Public Adviser, at (916) 654-4489, toll free in California at (800) 822-6228, or by email at:
