Evidentiary hearings are held to establish the factual record necessary to reach a decision in this case. This is accomplished by taking oral, written, or documentary evidence from the parties. Formal evidentiary hearings are more structured than Committee conferences or staff workshops.
The Los Esteros Critical Energy Facility is a 180-megawatt, natural gas-fired, simple-cycle power plant in North San Jose. As part of this Phase II Application for Certification, the existing plant was recertified on March 16, 2005. The Evidentiary Hearing will focus on the part of the application that requests a license to convert the existing facility to a combined-cycle operation capable of producing 320 megawatts.
Members of the public and other interested agencies are invited to participate and provide comments. Those who wish further information about how to participate should contact Margret J. Kim, the Commissions Public Adviser, at (916) 654-4489, toll free in California at (800) 822-6228, or by email at: firstname.lastname@example.org
