First of two pre-hearing conferences for Ivanpah
solar thermal project to be held November 18
What: The California Energy Commission Committee reviewing the proposed 400-megawatt Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System Project will hold a pre-hearing conference. Members of the public are invited attend.
When: Beginning at 1pm Wednesday, November 18, 2009.
Where: Hearing Room B, California Energy Commission 1516 Ninth Street, Sacramento.
Who: The pre-hearing conference is a public forum that will enable the Committee reviewing the proposed power plant to assess the readiness of formal parties for the evidentiary hearing. At the pre-hearing, the parties will present their positions on topic areas ready for evidentiary hearing and those topics that require further analysis, including the nature of, and time frame for, any such analysis; the topic areas that have been resolved; and the topic areas that are disputed and require adjudication.
The parties will also identify proposed witnesses, as well as the time required for direct testimony and/or cross- examination.
Another pre-hearing conference has been scheduled at the Commission on December 10, 2009.
Why: The evidentiary hearing on December 14 and 15, if needed, will establish the factual record upon which the Commission will decide this case based on written or documentary evidence from the formal parties to the proceeding. Members of the public are welcome to attend. It is not necessary for anyone to be an intervenor or formal party to the proceeding to take part in the public process. However, only formal parties may present and cross-examine witnesses at the evidentiary hearing.
