Evidentiary hearing November 30 for Tracy Combined Cycle Power Plant
The California Energy Commission committee reviewing the Tracy Combined Cycle Power Plant project will hold an evidentiary hearing. Members of the public are welcome to attend and offer comments.
When: Monday, November 30, 2009 beginning at 2pm.
Where: Council Chambers, Tracy City Hall, 333 Civic Center Plaza, Tracy, California.
Who: It is not necessary for anyone to be an intervener (formal party to the proceedings) to take part in the public process. However, only formal parties may present and cross-examine witnesses at the evidentiary hearing.
Why: The evidentiary hearing, publicly noticed on November 4, will establish the factual record upon which the Commission will decide this case based on written or documentary evidence from the official parties to the proceeding.
The project proposed by GWF Energy, LLC would convert the 169-megawatt Tracy Peaker plant into a 314-MW combined cycle power facility.
The facility would occupy a 16.38-acre, fenced site within the existing GWF-owned 40-acre parcel in an unincorporated portion of San Joaquin County, just southwest of Tracy.
If approved, construction of GWF Tracy could begin in the fall of 2010 and its commercial operation targeted for June of 2012.
