Attention Editors:
Prehearing Conference and Evidentiary Hearing to be held
January 5 on Lodi Energy Center project

What: The California Energy Commission committee reviewing the proposed 255-megawatt Lodi Energy Center will hold a prehearing conference and an evidentiary hearing workshop. Members of the public are welcome to attend and offer comments.

When: Tuesday, January 5, 2010 beginning at 10am

Where: Hearing Room A, California Energy Commission, 1516 Ninth Street, Sacramento, California

Who: : It is not necessary for anyone to be an intervener (formal party to the proceedings) to take part in the public process. However, only formal parties may present and cross-examine witnesses at the evidentiary hearing.

Why: The prehearing conference, publicly noticed on November 25, is a public forum where the Committee will assess the parties' readiness for an evidentiary hearing, identify areas of agreement or dispute, and discuss the remaining schedule and procedures necessary to conclude the certification process. The evidentiary hearing, publicly noticed on November 25, will establish the factual record upon which the Commission will decide this case, based on written or documentary evidence from the official parties to the proceeding.

The natural gas powered project is being proposed on a 4.4 acre site adjacent to the City of Lodi's White Slough Water Pollution Control Facility. If licensed by the Energy Commission, construction of the power facility from site preparation to commercial operation is expected to take approximately 24 months.
