The California Energy Commission wants consumers to begin preparing before the rebate program launch on April 22, 2010. The website will educate consumers about the eligible appliances, rebates offered, and how to properly recycle their existing appliance. Additional information about the rebate program will also be available through many retailers across the state to guide consumers through the process. A list of partners will be available on the website.
Consumers who switch their existing inefficient appliance for a high, energy-efficient appliance can save money on their electricity bills and use half as much energy from an old appliance made in the 1990s. This program will run until funds are depleted on a first-come, first-serve basis, so consumers need to prepare now.
