on the Imperial Valley Solar Project
What: The staff of the California Energy Commission and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management will conduct a workshop on the Staff Assessment/Draft Environmental Impact Statement (SA/DEIS) for the Imperial Valley (formerly SES Solar Two) Solar Project in Imperial County.
When: Monday, March 22, 2010, starting at 8am.
Where: San Diego Gas & Electric Renewable Center, 1425 W. Main Street, El Centro, California

The next step in the review process will be a pre-hearing conference in Sacramento on March 25, 2010 to assess the parties' readiness for the evidentiary hearing to be conducted April 19-20 in El Centro.
The 750-MW Impeial Valley project would use SunCatcher solar-dish technology designed to automatically track the sun and focus solar energy onto a power conversion unit to generate electricity.
If approved, SES Solar Two will begin construction this year. For additional details on the project, please go to: http://www.energy.ca.gov/sitingcases/solartwo/index.html
