Public workshop April 22 and 23 on the proposed
Ridgecrest Solar Power Project

Who: The staff of the California Energy Commission and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will jointly hold a public workshop on the proposed 250-megawatt Ridgecrest Solar Power Project. The public and interested parties are invited to attend.

When: The workshops will be held on TWO separate days:
Thursday, April 22, 2010 and Friday, April 23, 2010 starting at 8:00 am on both days.

Where: Ridgecrest City Hall, Council Chambers, 100 West California Avenue, Ridgecrest, CA 93555

What: The Ridgecrest Solar Power Project would be located in the high northern Mojave Desert in northeastern Kern County, California, about five miles southwest of the city of Ridgecrest, California. The project right-of-way will extend across approximately 3,920 acres of public lands owned by the federal government.

Why: The workshop will provide an opportunity for all interested parties and the public to discuss the staff assessment and draft environmental impact statement issued recently by the Energy Commission and the BLM.
