Additional workshop on proposed Ridgecrest Solar Power Project May 3 & 4

Who: The staff of the California Energy Commission and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will jointly hold a public workshop on the proposed 250-megawatt Ridgecrest Solar Power Project. The public and interested parties are invited to attend.

When: The workshop will be held on TWO separate days:
Monday, May 3, 2010 and Tuesday, May 4, 2010 starting at 8am on both days

Where: Ridgecrest City Hall, Council Chambers,

What: The Ridgecrest Solar Power Project would be located in the high northern Mojave Desert in northeastern Kern County, California, about five miles southwest of the city of Ridgecrest, California. The project right-of-way will extend across approximately 3,920 acres of public lands managed by the federal government.

Why: : The workshop will provide an opportunity for all interested parties and the public to discuss the staff assessment and draft environmental impact statement issued recently by the Energy Commission and the BLM in the area of biological resources.
