Cash for Appliances Rebates still Available
Buy, Recycle, and Save on New Appliances Today

What: California consumers still have time to buy a new energy efficient appliance, recycle, and save through the California Cash for Appliances rebate program. The Energy Commission has received more than 11,800 applications with approximately $29 million still available for rebates.

When: The California Cash for Appliances rebate program launched on April 22, 2010 and continues through May 23, 2010 provided funds remain available. Once funds are exhausted the rebate program will end.

Who: The Energy Commission has partnered with over 80 Platinum Retail Partners and more than 40 Official Partners to assist consumers with appliance purchases, recycling their old appliances and completing their application package. A list of partners is available at:

Why: The California Energy Commission wants consumers to continue to Buy, Recycle, and Save with a new energy efficient appliance this weekend while funds still remain. Eligible energy efficient appliances and rebate amounts available are: refrigerators $200, clothes washers $100, and room air conditioners up to $50. How: Consumers are eligible for a rebate when they purchase a qualified highly energy efficient appliance, properly recycle their old appliance, and submit a complete application package within 30 days of the appliance purchase.
