The Almond 2 Power Plant, proposed by the Turlock Irrigation District, is a natural gas-fired, simple-cycle peaking facility with a gross generating capacity of 174 megawatts.

The proposed plant will be located on a 4.6-acre site about two miles from the city center of Ceres and five miles from Modesto. The site is next to the existing 48-megawatt Almond Power Plant that the Turlock Irrigation District operates.
