Energy Upgrade California Program to Hold Local Outreach Event to Help Small Businesses Create Jobs

What: The Energy Upgrade California Program Team, utility leaders, and other experts will provide information regarding how businesses, households and communities can benefit from the new Energy Upgrade California program. Keynote speakers will address why energy efficiency and workforce development are important, additional benefits of renewable energy generation, and California's long-term vision and short-term actions including incentives, energy upgrade rebates and workforce support.

Energy Upgrade California, made possible by funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, is an unprecedented collaboration between the California Energy Commission, the California Public Utilities Commission, utilities, local governments, non-governmental organizations and the private sector to promote and finance energy efficiency and renewable energy projects for homes and businesses, reduce energy use and help train contractors and building professionals. These efforts will support construction-related jobs that lead to increased sales for local building suppliers and retailers.
