New Solar Homes Partnership Guidbook

The New Solar Homes Partnership (NSHP) implements the Energy Commission portion of the California Solar Initiative and provides financial incentives to encourage the installation of eligible solar energy systems on new residential construction. The NSHP seeks to achieve 400 megawatts of installed solar electric capacity on highly energy efficient homes in California by the end of 2016. This revised Guidebook (publication # CEC-300-2010-001-CMF-REV1), adopted by the Energy Commission at its Business Meeting on April 7, 2010, describes the requirements to receive incentives for constructing energy efficient, solar homes under the NSHP. The single change to this Guidebook now provides applicants up to 180 days to secure their solar permits after receiving their certificate of occupancy.
