Can I apply for CBE preference points even if I do not live in California?

You can qualify for CBE preference points even if you do not live in California. However, you must have an office or headquarters in California AND substantially manufacture the product or substantially performs the research within California that is the subject of the award.

Can I apply for CBE preference points if I reside in California, but the proposed technology will be manufactured in another state?

No. You can qualify for CBE preference points only if you have an office or headquarters AND will substantially manufacture your technology within California or will perform substantial research on the proposed technology within California.

If my proposal does not make it to PTRB with my first submission, will I be allowed to apply for CBE preference points if I submit the proposal for a second submission?

Yes. You can apply for CBE preference points each time that a proposal is submitted, even if it is not a first submission.

Can I qualify for CBE preference points if the sub-contractor is not in California?

You can qualify for CBE preference points only if the combined funding to the prime recipient CBE and the subcontractor CBE will receive 80% or more of the EISG funds. If the subcontractor is not a CBE, then the prime recipient CBE must receive at least 80% of the funds.
