PIER Renewables technology area roadmaps are periodically updated to reflect the evolving state of renewable energy development. This workshop seeks input from renewable energy research stakeholders regarding current program priorities and future refinement of the roadmaps. During the workshop, the PIER Renewables program team will summarize program accomplishments and new priority areas, and review recent roadmap updates.
The purpose of the PIER Program is to support energy research, development and demonstration projects that will help improve the quality of life in California by bringing environmentally safe, affordable and reliable energy services and products to the marketplace.
The purpose of the PIER Renewables Roadmaps are to take broad, long-term state policy goals and, through several steps, apply the goals to develop prioritized research milestones. The PIER Renewables Roadmaps are living documents that are revisited on a periodic basis to ensure that the strategic recommendations account for the evolution of the renewable energy marketplace. They are developed with the advice and input of industry stakeholders, other state and federal agencies, and utilities to ensure alignment with other publicly funded energy research objectives.
Written comments on the PIER Renewables Roadmaps can be submitted until 5:00 p.m. on June 6, 2008. Please include the PIER Renewables Research Roadmaps in the subject line or first paragraph of your comments. Please hand deliver or mail an original to:
