Purpose

The Renewable Energy Transmission Initiative (RETI) Coordinating Committee, comprised of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), the California Energy Commission (Energy Commission), the California Independent System Operator (California ISO), and representatives of Publicly Owned Utilities (POUs) - the Northern California Power Authority (NCPA), Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), and the Southern California Public Power Authority (SCPPA) - will hold the second Plenary Stakeholder Group (PSG) meeting to inform interested parties of the status of the RETI effort, to report on Stakeholder Steering Committee meetings, and to gather input and respond to questions and concerns. RETI is an open and transparent collaborative process in which all interested parties are encouraged to participate through the PSG.

The PSG meeting will include updates on work of the Stakeholder Steering Committee since the PSG's first meeting and a presentation from the newly selected contractor on proposed Phase 1 work. Any materials available in advance of the meeting will be posted on the RETI website: http://www.energy.ca.gov/reti/meetings/index.html.

Plenary Stakeholder Group

Participation in the RETI Plenary Stakeholder Group (PSG) is open to all parties and the public interested in renewable resource and transmission development. The PSG meets periodically to receive reports from the Stakeholder Steering Committee, provide input and perspective on RETI work, help shape consensus recommendations and review progress toward program goals.

The PSG operates as a collaborative and strives to reach consensus decisions. The sole requirement for participation is agreement to work in good faith toward this end. If consensus proves impossible to achieve, dissenting parties may produce their own recommendations for inclusion in RETI reports.
