On February 28, 2007, the California Energy Commission adopted amendments to its power plant siting regulations.

On March 28, 2007, the amendments were approved by the Office of Administrative Law and filed with the Secretary of State and became effective that day.

Staff has revised the Data Adequacy Worksheets normally used to review Applications for Certification (AFC) for adequacy. To assist power plant developers, the Siting Division is providing the revised Data Adequacy Worksheets for use in preparation of Applications For Certifications (AFCs) that would be submitted after March 28, 2007. This proceeding to adopt, amend, and repeal regulations governing the Commission's Rules of Practice and Site Certification was begun on October 6, 2004. The full Rules of Practice are found at Title 20, California Code of Regulations, section 1101 et seq. and the Site Certification regulations are found at Title 20, California Code of Regulations, section 1701 et seq.

The regulations implement various Public Resources Code sections governing the Commission's responsibilities with respect to the siting of thermal power plants and the Commission's rules of practice for its formal proceedings.
