Project Summary: The proposed project is located in the City of Blythe, next to the Blythe Energy Project I, currently in operation. If approved, the BEP II would be a nominally-rated 520-megawatt combined-cycle power plant. Energy Commission staff published the PSA for the proposed BEP II project on November 14, 2003. While workshops are normally held soon after the release of the PSA, staff delayed this workshop for several months in order to obtain all of the information needed for public discussion

Public Participation: The public is encouraged to participate and provide comments as early in the process as possible. For information on how to participate in the Energy Commission's review of the proposed project, please contact Ms. Margret J. Kim, the Energy Commission's Public Adviser, toll free in California, at (800) 822-6228, or via email at pao@energy.state.ca.us. If you have a disability and need assistance in order to participate at the workshop, please contact Lourdes Quiroz in the Administrative Services Division at (916) 654-5146 at least five days before the meeting.

Inquiries about the project should be directed to Bill Pfanner, Project Manager, at (916) 654-4206, or by e-mail at: [bpfanner@energy.state.ca.us] If you would like to obtain information on where to view a copy of the PSA, please contact Evelyn Johnson, Siting Project Secretary, at (916) 653-1640, or by e-mail at:[ejohnson@energy.state.ca.us] News media inquiries should be directed to Claudia Chandler, Assistant Director, at (916) 654-4989, or by e-mail at [mediaoffice@energy.state.ca.us]
