NOTICE OF HEARING ON MOTION TO
COMPEL INFORMATION &
ON PROJECT STATUS
BLYTHE ENERGY PROJECT II
APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATION
DOCKET NO. 02-AFC-1
On May 4, 2005, the Energy Commission staff filed its Motion to Compel Applicant to Submit Certain Information on Proposed Transmission Interconnection Configuration. Staff asserts that the Applicant has not provided sufficient transmission interconnection information to enable a complete regulatory review of the project's conformity to applicable laws and the potential environmental impacts from the project's transmission lines. The Applicant will be provided an opportunity to respond to Staff's Motion.
On April 29, 2005, the Staff publicly released its Final Staff Assessment providing its analysis of the project's potential environmental impacts and conformity to applicable laws. Typically the release of the Final Staff Assessment would be followed by a Prehearing Conference leading to Evidentiary Hearings, all of which serve as the basis for the Commission Committee to prepare a Proposed Decision on the project. However, given the pending Staff Motion, the Committee will also review the status of the project to assess whether the proceeding is ready for a Prehearing Conference.

- The Staff's Motion to Compel Applicant to Submit Certain Information on Proposed Transmission Interconnection Configuration;
