Project Summary: Blythe Energy, LLC, filed a petition to amend the Energy Commission decision and modify the project. Blythe Energy proposes to build two new transmission lines and a substation in Riverside County, California. The proposed facilities would allow the entire electrical generating capacity of the Blythe Energy power plant, located in the city of Blythe, to be transmitted into the Southern California electrical grid system. The proposed project will consist of two 230-kV transmission lines, one 67.4 miles in length and the other 6.7 miles. Additionally, Blythe Energy would construct a new substation at the point of interconnection near the existing Southern California Edison Devers-Palo Verde (DP-V1) 500-kV transmission line.
