Gateway Power Plant Unit 8
Staff Data Request Workshop

Purpose: The staff of the Energy Commission has begun its evaluation of the project and has prepared data requests to obtain additional information about the Contra Costa Power Plant (CCPP) Unit 8 Project. The purpose of the workshop is to discuss and explain the data requests and to provide the CCPP Unit 8 Applicant and the public an opportunity to ask clarifying questions. This workshop will present the following data request topics at the times indicated below.

Schedules:

2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. --Biological Resources, Cultural Resources, Soil and Water Resources, Transmission Line Safety and Nuisance, Transmission System Engineering, Visual Resources and Waste Management

6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. - Air Quality and Public Health

Although the discussion of subjects will primarily be at the times listed above, it will be possible to raise questions on any of the subjects during either the afternoon or evening session.

Project Summary: Southern Energy Delta LLC proposes to develop the Gateway Power Plant Unit 8, a 530-megawatt, natural gas-fired, combined cycle power plant. The proposed site is at the existing Gateway Power Plant, formerly owned by Pacific Gas and Electric Co., which is located 1 mile northeast of the City of Antioch on Wilbur Avenue near State Route (SR) 4, SR 160 and the Antioch Bridge.
