DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED MODIFICATION
The modification proposed in the petition would involve converting the existing HEPP from a nominal 95-megawatt (MW) simple-cycle power plant into a combined-cycle power plant with a nominal 25 MW (net) of additional generating capacity. Though the plant would be renamed to the GWF Hanford Combined-Cycle Power Plant (GWF Hanford), it will retain the capability to operate in a simple-cycle configuration. New once-through steam generators (OTSGs) would be installed to allow the plant to be operated in its current simple-cycle configuration with no steam generation but with the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and oxidation catalyst in operation, or to operate as a combined-cycle power plant generating an additional 25 MW (net) of power with new proposed emission limits.
