Purpose:
|
The staff of the California Energy Commission
will hold a workshop for the proposed Inland Empire
Energy Center (IEEC) Project. One purpose of the workshop
is to discuss the applicant's data responses in technical
areas that include, but are not limited to, air quality,
hazardous materials, land use, noise, and public health.
Another purpose is to try to resolve all outstanding
issues. In addition, staff will briefly explain how
it analyzes each of these technical areas and how it
approaches issues of environmental justice.

Project Summary:
|
Inland Empire Energy Center, LLC, is
seeking approval to construct and operate a 670-megawatt,
natural gas-fired, combined-cycle, electric generating
facility located on 46 acres near Romoland, Riverside
County. The project site is bordered by McLaughlin Road
to the south, San Jacinto Road to the east, Antelope
Road to the west, and the Burlington Northern Santa
Fe railway to the north. IEEC will generate and supply
power to the Southern California Edison (SCE) Valley
Substation less than one mile east of the project site.
