All interested agencies and members of the public are invited to participate. The workshop will be held:

Energy Commission staff recently filed its SA on the LEC Application for Certification (AFC). The purpose of this SA workshop is to receive comments on staff's analysis from the applicant, public, intervenors in the proceeding, and local, state and federal agencies. Discussions will include all topics contained in the SA, with a focus on Air Quality, Biology, Cultural Resources, and Visual Resources. All other topics related to the SA will be discussed as appropriate. The SA will serve as staff's testimony in evidentiary hearings. Staff may prepare an addendum to the SA, as necessary. Public comments on the SA are welcome and encouraged to be submitted in writing by January 3, 2010, to Rod Jones Project Manager.

On September 10, 2008, the Northern California Power Agency (NCPA) filed an AFC with the Energy Commission for the LEC generating facility. NCPA is seeking Energy Commission approval to construct and operate a natural gas-fired, combined-cycle, nominal 296-megawatt (MW) plant. If approved, the generating facility would be built on approximately 4.4 acres of land owned and incorporated by the city of Lodi, 6 miles west of the Lodi city center, located near Interstate-5 (I-5) approximately 1.7 miles south of State Route 12.
