NOTICE OF SPECIAL COMMISSION HEARING RE
PRESIDING MEMBER'S PROPOSED DECISION (PMPD)

I. BACKGROUND

On May 30, 2002, the Committee designated to conduct proceedings in the above-captioned matter issued its Presiding Member's Proposed Decision (PMPD) recommending that the full Commission approve the Application for Certification for the Los Esteros Critical Energy Facility as proposed by Calpine C* Power. On Monday, June 24, 2002, the Committee will hold a public Committee Conference to discuss comments on the PMPD. The 30-day comment period will end on June 29, 2002. If the comments and edits proposed by the parties do not substantively change the Committee's findings and conclusions, no Revised PMPD will be issued. The Committee will distribute a list of Errata to be incorporated into the PMPD upon consideration by the full Commission.

II. NOTICE OF COMMISSION HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the California Energy Commission will conduct a public hearing (Cal. Code of Regs., tit. 20, § 1754) on the PMPD at a Special Business Meeting scheduled as follows:
