NOTICE OF RECEIPT
METCALF ENERGY CENTER PROJECT (99-AFC-3C)
REQUEST FOR OWNERSHIP CHANGE

The California Energy Commission (Energy Commission) received a petition from the Metcalf Energy Center, LLC, dated July 9, 2003, requesting approval to transfer the ownership and obligations imposed by the conditions of certification of the Metcalf Energy Center Project (MEC) (99-AFC-3C) from Metcalf Energy Center, LLC, a subsidiary of Calpine Corporation, to Calpine Corporation.

Commission Review Procedures

A statement describing the ownership change, signed under penalty of perjury by a representative of the proposed new owner of the project, was submitted to the Energy Commission staff for review and approval as required by Title 20, California Code of Regulations, section 1769(b). The statement affirms that the new owner agrees to be bound by the requirements of the Energy Commission for the MEC Project. Based on the information provided, staff intends to recommend that the proposed ownership change be approved by the Energy Commission at the August 6, 2003 business meeting.
