Subject: 	Deny Calpine

Dear Commissioner Zamora:
I am adamantly opposed to the Calpine Energy Plant at Metcalf.
1.  Land is not zoned for this type of industry.  It would require amending 
the San     Jose General Plan.
2.  600 foot plume of smoke in residential South San Jose.
3.  3 tons of particulate pollution per day into the air.  It will be the 
single  largest     air pollution problem in the region.
4.  Six new power plants have already been approved since deregulation, 
including   Moss Landing upgrade, that will supply power to San Jose.
