In the Matter of: ) Docket No. 99-AFC-3 ) Application for Certification ) for the METCALF ENERGY CENTER ) COMMITTEE BRIEFING ORDER ) _____________________________________)
At the close of evidentiary hearings in this proceeding parties may, though are not required to, submit written briefs. In the briefs parties argue their position and support their arguments with specific references to the evidentiary record of the case. Their purpose in doing so is to present logical arguments in support of their position and, through citations to the record, direct the Committee's attention to evidence which supports their argument.
Where an argument relies on an exhibit received into evidence, the appropriate exhibit number and page will be given. (Exhibit 5, p. 12.) If the argument is supported by a statement contained in the official reporter's transcript, the reference shall include the date of the reporter's transcript followed by the letters "RT" followed thereafter by the page number or numbers on which the statement appears. (2/28/01 RT 98-102.) Parties are encouraged to limit their briefs to only those topic areas in which they believe there is the need to present argument. There is no requirement to address every topic area or every issue presented at the hearings.
