NOTICE OF STATUS CONFERENCE
On July 18, 2007, Orange Grove Energy, L.P., (Applicant) submitted an Application for an SPPE to the California Energy Commission in connection with its proposal to construct and operate the Orange Grove Project. The project involves a nominal 96 MW simple-cycle electric generating plant and ancillary facilities in rural north San Diego County, approximately five miles east of the city of Fallbrook and approximately two miles west of the community of Pala. Construction was planned to begin in January of 2008 and commercial operation was planned to begin in June of 2008.
On December 11 and 12, 2007, the Applicant and Energy Commission staff, respectively, filed Status Report #3 indicating that the Applicant would be changing their application with respect to a new source of cooling water information. On January 4, 2008, the Applicant filed "Project Updates and Responses to California Energy Commission, Data Requests 99 to 135, for the Orange Grove Power Plant Project," addressing various changes to the project design and site layout. Staff indicates that it will set a new data response workshop after reviewing Applicant's project changes.
