Purpose: The staff of the Energy Commission will host a workshop for Pastoria Energy Facility Project (PEF Project) representatives, water agency personnel, other interested agencies and the public. The purpose of the workshop is to discuss the water supply plans for the PEF Project. Discussion topics will include: arrangements for a primary water supply for the PEF Project from the Wheeler Ridge-Maricopa Water Storage District, a backup water supply for the PEF Project provided by the Azurix Company, and the environmental impacts of these water supply arrangements. The public is welcome to attend, ask questions and make comments on these topics.

Project Summary: The PEF Project is a proposed 750 megawatt natural gas-fired electric generating facility. The proposed project is located on Tejon Ranch 30 miles south of Bakersfield, and 6.5 miles east of Interstate 5 at the base of the Tehachapi Mountains.
