Notice of Workshops to Discuss Staff Data Requests and
Air Quality Issues for the
Pittsburg District Energy Facility
DOCKET NUMBER 98-AFC-1
The Pittsburg District Energy Facility (PDEF), Limited Liability Company, is proposing to develop a 500 megawatt natural gas-fired power plant. The proposed location for this plant is on a 12-acre site on East 3rd Street, west of the intersection of East 3rd Street and Columbia in the City of Pittsburg in Eastern Contra Costa County. The project’s major linear features will include a new natural gas pipeline; a new pipeline for reclaimed water; a new 115 kilovolt transmission line that will interconnect with Pacific Gas and Electric’s existing Pittsburg Power Plant substation; and a truck bypass road.
The Energy Commission staff has begun its evaluation of the project. The purpose of the workshops is to discuss staff’s data requests to obtain additional information and to discuss technical air quality-related issues (possible permit conditions and offset issues). The applicant and public will have an opportunity to ask clarifying questions and participate in the technical discussion. Data requests are being made in the areas of air quality and visual resources. The workshops will be held:
Tuesday, February 9, 1999 and
Thursday, February 11, 1999 *(if necessary)
2 to 4 p.m.
Pittsburg City Hall - Council Chambers
65 Civic Avenue
*To allow ample time for discussion and to encourage public participation two workshops have been scheduled.
