Notice of Workshop to Discuss Fire Protection Issues for the
Pittsburg District Energy Facility
Docket Number 98-AFC-1

The Pittsburg District Energy Facility (PDEF), Limited Liability Company, is proposing to develop a 500 megawatt natural gas-fired power plant. The proposed location for this plant is on a 12-acre site on East 3rd Street, west of the intersection of East 3rd Street and Columbia in the City of Pittsburg in eastern Contra Costa County. The projectÕs major linear features will include a new natural gas pipeline; a new pipeline for reclaimed water; a new 115 kilovolt transmission line that will interconnect with Pacific Gas and ElectricÕs existing Pittsburg Power Plant substation; and a truck bypass road.

The purpose of the workshop is to discuss issues raised by the Contra Costa Fire Protection District regarding fire protection to the Pittsburg District Energy Facility and Delta Energy Center. The applicant, intervenors and public will have an opportunity to ask clarifying questions and participate in the technical discussion with staff and the Fire District. The workshop will be held:
