The Pittsburg District Energy Facility (PDEF), Limited Liability Company is proposing to develop a 500 megawatt (MW), natural gas-fired, power plant. The plant is proposed to be located on a 12-acre site on East 3rd Street, west of the intersection of East 3rd and Columbia in the City of Pittsburg, in eastern Contra Costa County. In addition, the project's major linear features will include a new natural gas pipeline; a new pipeline for reclaimed water; a new 115 kilovolt (kV) transmission line that will interconnect with Pacific Gas & Electric's existing system; and a truck bypass road.

The Energy Commission staff has begun its evaluation of the project and has prepared data requests to obtain additional information from PDEF. The purpose of the workshop is to discuss and explain the data requests and to provide PDEF and the public an opportunity to ask clarifying questions. Data requests are being prepared in the areas of air quality, noise, soil and water resources, visual resources, biological resources, worker safety and fire, socioeconomics, waste management and transmission line safety and nuisance.
