NOTICE OF STAFF WORKSHOP TO DISCUSS APPLICATION MODIFICATIONS AND ISSUES FOR THE PITTSBURG DISTRICT ENERGY FACILITY DOCKET NUMBER 98-AFC-1
The Pittsburg District Energy Facility (PDEF), Limited Liability Company, is proposing to develop a 500 megawatt natural gas-fired power plant. The proposed location for this plant is on a 12-acre site on East 3rd Street, west of the intersection of East 3rd Street and Columbia in the City of Pittsburg in Eastern Contra Costa County. The projects major linear features will include a new natural gas pipeline; a new pipeline for reclaimed water; a new 115 kilovolt transmission line that will interconnect with Pacific Gas and Electrics existing Pittsburg Power Plant substation; and a truck bypass road.
The Energy Commission staff has begun its evaluation of the project. The purpose of the workshop is to discuss proposed changes by the applicant to the application and facility. The public will have an opportunity to ask questions. Changes to the proposal primarily affect areas of air quality, noise, soil and water resources, visual resources, and transmission line safety and nuisance. The workshop will be held:
