NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT A MITIGATED NEGATIVE DECLARATION
AND NOTICE OF COMMITTEE CONFERENCE
AND NOTICE OF COMMISSION HEARING

I. NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY

The Committee issued the Proposed Decision/Notice of Intent to Adopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration for the Modesto Electric Generation Station on November 7, 2003. Copies of the document were sent to the Office of Planning and Research, as well as to those on the Proof of Service List, and are also available from the Energy Commission's Publications Unit, 1516 Ninth Street, MS-13, Sacramento, CA 95814. For a printed copy, call the Publications Unit at 916-654-5200 and ask for Publication No. P800-03-015. The document may also be viewed on the Energy Commission's Internet Web Site at: [www.energy.ca.gov/sitingcases/ripon].

Members of the public and governmental agencies may submit written comments. The public comment period ends December 8, 2003. Twelve copies of all comments must be received no later than 5 p.m. on December 8, 2003 by the Energy Commission's Docket Unit, MS-4, 1516 Ninth Street, Sacramento, CA 95814. Please identify all comments with "Docket No. 03-SPPE-01."

II. NOTICE OF COMMITTEE CONFERENCE ON THE PMPD

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Committee will conduct a public Conference to discuss the document as follows:

Applicant, Staff, and all other formal parties wishing to participate at the Conference must file written comments. Comments shall be served and filed no later than 3:00 p.m. on November 25, 2003. The comments shall also be sent by email to the parties and to the Hearing Officer. Members of the general public wishing to participate at this Conference are encouraged, but not required, to submit their written comments by the same date.

III. NOTICE OF COMMISSION HEARING

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the Energy Commission will conduct a hearing on the Proposed Decision and Mitigated Negative Declaration at its regularly scheduled business meeting as follows:
