Purposes: The purpose of the workshop is to address the comments and questions of the public, intervenors and the applicant relating to the Data Requests issued by Commission staff in the Riverside Energy Resource Center Small Power Plant Exemption application proceeding and to work toward resolving potential issues. If unable to attend, written comments may be sent to the project manager electronically or to the CommissionŐs address shown below. Questions and comments will be considered by staff and if necessary, will be addressed in the Draft Initial Study.
Project Summary: Riverside Public Utilities proposes to build and operate a nominal 96 MW simple-cycle power plant on a 12-acre fenced site within the City of Riverside, California. This proposed facility is referred to as the Riverside Energy Resource Center (RERC) Project. Riverside Public Utilities would develop, build, own and operate the facility. The proposed site is owned by the City of Riverside and is adjacent to the CityŐs Waste Water Treatment Plant. The 96-megawatt natural gas-fired simple cycle plant will consist of two General Electric LM 6000 SPRINT combustion turbines. The proposed project would include the construction of approximately 1.75 miles of new double circuit 69kV transmission line. All transmission line construction would occur in an existing city-owned transmission line right-of-way. Public Participation: : The public is encouraged to participate and provide comments.
