| Project Summary: | Calpine Corporation proposes to develop the SJVEC, a nominal 1,060-megawatt, natural gas-fired, combined cycle power plant, to the west of the intersection of W. Colorado Avenue and Springfield Avenue in an industrial area on the southern edge of the City of San Joaquin. The plant would use approximately 7,000-acre-feet per year of reclaimed water for cooling and other purposes, supplied by the Fresno-Clovis Wastewater Treatment Facility via 21 miles of pipeline. The City of San Joaquin would provide domestic water for drinking and general sanitary purposes. Natural gas for the plant would be provided via 20 miles of new pipeline that would connect to PG&E's existing natural gas system near I-5. The project would interconnect with PG&E's electric transmission system near the Helm substation through a 0.25 mile transmission line. | |
