I. NOTICE OF SCHEDULING CONFERENCE

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT the Committee designated to conduct proceedings on the Application for Certification for the SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY ENERGY CENTER will hold a Scheduling Conference as follows:

A. Purpose of the Scheduling Conference

This Scheduling Conference will provide a public forum allowing Applicant, Commission staff, interested parties, governmental agencies, and members of the public to indicate whether case development is progressing satisfactorily. In addition, participants may bring any further potential schedule delays or other relevant matters to the Committee's attention. Applicant, Staff, other parties, and agencies should be prepared to indicate when specific information, such as the items noted in the paragraph below, will be provided.

B. Discussion Items

For purposes of this Scheduling Conference, the Committee is interested to hear from all parties on the following aspects of the proposed project:

  1. Proposed Schedules. How conversion of the project from the six-month process to the 12-month process will effect the schedule and Staff's preparation of a Final Staff Assessment

    In addition, Applicant and Staff shall file with the Energy Commission's Docket Unit by the close of business on October 10, 2002, Proposed Schedules that, minimally, contain recommended dates for:
    1. All information or data requests either outstanding or to be submitted by the parties. If completed, the dates they were completed and submitted;

    2. Staff filing its Final Staff Assessment; and any

    3. Proposed workshops.
  1. Air Quality:
    1. Status of Final Determination of Compliance.

    2. A discussion of any required cumulative impacts analysis.

  2. Transmission System Engineering:
    1. A discussion of the issues surrounding electrical reconductoring.
  1. A discussion of any other outstanding issues.
