Purpose:

The staff of the California Energy Commission will hold a site visit and workshop for the proposed SMUD Cosumnes Power Plant Project. The purpose of the workshop is to discuss the applicant's data responses and outstanding issues. Discussion topics are listed below. Please note that topics listed for one day may also be discussed on the other day if circumstances require.

Project Summary:

Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) proposes to develop the Cosumnes Power Plant Project, a 1000-megawatt (two phases, each consisting of 500 megawatts), natural gas-fired, combined cycle power plant near the decommissioned Rancho Seco Nuclear Plant, 25 miles southeast of the City of Sacramento, in Sacramento County. The project would be located on a 30-acre portion of an overall 2,480-acre site owned by SMUD.

The public is encouraged to participate and provide comments.
