The California Energy Commission will conduct a Data Response and Issue Resolution Workshop for the GWF Tracy Combined Cycle Power Plant Project on December 11, 2008. The purpose of the workshop is to discuss GWF Energy, LLC's responses to the Energy Commission's data requests and to facilitate the resolution of related issues and concerns. All interested agencies and members of the public are invited to participate. The workshop will be held:

The Energy Commission is currently reviewing GWF Energy, LLC's (GWF Energy) Application for Certification (AFC) for the proposed development of the GWF Tracy Combined Cycle Power Plant Project (GWF Tracy). To facilitate its review of the AFC, the Energy Commission published data requests on October 21, 2008 for the following technical areas: air quality, biological resources, cultural resources, geology and paleontology, land use, and soil and water resources.
The December 11, 2008 Data Response and Issue Resolution Workshop will focus on GWF Energy's November 19, 2008 data responses, and the resolution of related issues and concerns. Following the workshop, staff will consider the responses and comments it receives, if necessary submit a second round of data requests, and publish a Preliminary Staff Assessment containing a preliminary analysis of issues and recommendations for mitigation and conditions of certification.
On July 18, 2008, the California Energy Commission received an AFC from GWF Energy, LLC for GWF Tracy. GWF Energy proposes to modify the existing Tracy Peaker Plant (TPP) (01-AFC-16), a nominal 169-megawatt (MW) simple-cycle power plant by converting the facility into a combined-cycle power plant with a new nominal generating capacity of 314 MW. The proposed project would occupy a 16.38-acre, fenced site within the existing GWF-owned 40-acre parcel in an unincorporated portion of San Joaquin County immediately southwest of Tracy, California, and approximately 20 miles southwest of Stockton, California.
